The Football Association of Wales (FAW) have today announced the appointment of The Value Xchange as their sponsorship sales agency.
Ahead of the senior men’s team’s forthcoming appearance at the FIFA World Cup 2022, there is no better time for brands to capitalise on the huge interest and momentum that this will bring.
The FAW has accomplished a great deal over the last 6 years, for football, for sport and for the country, including the senior men’s team’s many accomplishments such as reaching the semi-finals of UEFA EURO 2016 and knock-out stages of UEFA EURO 2020 – not to mention the huge growth in the women’s and girl’s game.
The ‘Our Wales’ strategic plan for 2021-2026 aims to ensure that football continues to grow rapidly, regarding inclusivity, accessibility, and success on and off the field. The FAW has a clear focus on reaching 120,000 registered footballers, doubling the size of the women’s and girl’s game, and ensuring that grassroots facilities are developed in line with these targets.
With the huge growth of women’s sport in general and within football, best seen over the summer with the huge success of UEFA Women’s EURO 2022, this presents compelling opportunities for brands to develop partnerships to capitalise on the fastest growing area of the game.
Ian Davis, Chief Commercial & Engagement Officer, said:
“We are very pleased to be working with The Value Xchange to support The FAW’s sponsorship sales. We are blessed with a strong partner programme and are looking to build on this, based on recent successes plus strategic plans to ensure rapid growth, including doubling the women’s & girl’s game. The team at The Value Xchange share this excitement and vision – and we are looking forward to be working with them to identify new, mutually beneficial partnerships.”
Kevin Hall, Director of Partnerships at The Value Xchange added:
“We are delighted to be appointed by The FAW to help with their sponsorship sales efforts. It is an incredibly exciting period for the FAW, with the men’s team about to appear in the FIFA World Cup 2022. We are looking forward to building on this momentum and passion, plus as the game continues to flourish in Wales - not least to capitalise on and support the continued growth of the women’s and girl’s game.”
